Visualization Meditation

Creative Visualization is a technique using your imagination to create and visualize images in the mind. In simple way, we can close our eyes and imagine a beautiful mountain, stream, lake, a blue sky, the ocean or a familiar landscape, or any other visualization.

Creative Visualizations works as a great way to initiate a calm and relaxed state by focusing on your breath and being mindful of the sensations in your body. A relaxation meditation can reduce stress and the symptoms of mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. It has other related health benefits, including: lowering your heart rate, blood pressure, reducing muscle tension and chronic pain.

The main belief with Creative Visualization is that by changing ones thoughts and perceptions, you can change the outer world, Creative Visualization can improve your life, health & well being and attract to you success and prosperity.

When practiced on a regular basis it works with the subconscious mind, it accepts the thoughts that you often repeat and changes your mindset accordingly, as well as your habits and actions guiding you to a more fulfilling positive way of being.

The great secret to success is to focus your attention on the feelings and images of that that you wish to be without permitting any distractionsNeville Goddard, The Power of Awareness.

 Earth Mindfulness

Earth Mindfulness is a practice of becoming conscious of the world around you, the land, sky, water, people and all that occupy its space. It encourages you to connect to your environment through sense perception, sound, listening deeply with your dreaming ears, object, visualization, sensing (feeling) the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of consciousness. It is a journey of becoming more aligned with your connection to the environment and  being totally present to what is in every moment.

In my culture we learn to listen to country from an early age. We are taught to be still and know Country, we know Country on a spiritual and emotional level. We know Country through our language. When we practice Earth Mindfulness we become an invitation to an increased awareness and healing.

My Earth Mindfulness class is translated in my language, Gamilaraay. Honoring the Gamilaroi peoples.

Everything in creation is sentient and carries knowledge, therefore everything is deserving of our respect.

Deep Listening Adapted from reflections by Miriam‐Rose Ungunmerr‐Baumann .

We are one with the land – sacred and unique.

All of us belong, and we celebrate together.

We feel dadirri, the deep spring that is inside us.

We call on it and it calls to us.

When we listen to the land we are made whole again.

We listen to the sacred stories, told and sung to us as we gather around the campfire. They sink quietly into our minds and we hold them deep inside.

We learn by watching and listening, waiting and then acting. As we grow older, we ourselves become the storytellers, and pass on all that we have learned.

In the ceremonies we celebrate the awareness of our lives as sacred. This is the way of our people. We are not threatened by silence – we embrace it, as we have done for thousands of years in Nature’s serenity. There is no need for words – only to be aware.

In this contemplative way, dadirri spreads over us and enriches our lives. It renews us and brings us peace. We do not rush or hurry things along. We let them follow their natural course – like the seasons.

We watch the moon in each of its phases. We wait for the rain to fill our rivers and quench the thirsty earth. We cannot hurry the river. We have to move with its current and understand its ways. When twilight comes, we prepare for the night. At dawn we rise with the sun. We do not worry.

When there is pain, or loss or suffering, we own our grief and allow it to heal slowly. We know that in time, through the spirit of dadirri, we will find peace again. Sometimes there is much sorrow and struggle in this time of healing – but we are patient and find harmony through this silent awareness

We ask others to take time to know us; to be still and to listen with us. To walk with us through the trees and sit by the river banks. To be aware of the land and its creatures. To respect and understand the peace that stillness brings.

Dadirri is inner, deep and quiet, stillness awareness. Dadirri recognises the deep spring that is inside us. We call on it and it calls to us. This is the gift that Australia is thristing for. It is something like what you call contemplation- Mirriam- Rose- Ungunmerr- Baumann, Ngangiwumirr Elder
